My family has taken a multitude of long RV trips over 35 plus years. When we used to get just a few miles from a city we would either get no radio signal or farm reports and country music only. When i heard about Sirius and XM radio i looked into it. When I found out I could be anywhere in the US and a large part of Mexico and get a great signal with hundreds of channels I was there. I now have a Sirius cradle in 3 vehicles including the Motor home I was in heaven. I have 3 cradles in my home. One in my office, bedroom and the garage. It only costs me $21 a month and a couple hundred for hardware because I got the good stuff.
I almost never listen to regular radio and all their commercials anymore.
You do get commercials on the talk radio channels but very few compared to terrestrial radio. I'll never go back.
The same thing happened when Satellite TV was available. I was one of the first to get it. After having Cable that went out all the time and many channels were fuzzy the Satellite has been perfect since about 1991-2.
